Foundation
General: The Hendrick Medical Center Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that exists to foster and support the purposes of Hendrick Medical Center. The Foundation, established in 1974, encourages, receives and manages gifts and bequests for the benefit of Hendrick Medical Center.
Board of
Directors: The Foundation is governed by a board of directors whose membership is drawn from three segments: one-third of the members are from the community-at-large, one-third from the medical staff at Hendrick, and one-third from the hospital's board of trustees.

Methods
of Giving: The Foundation offers opportunities for giving in several ways. Gifts of cash are the most common type of support. Gifts of securities, real estate, insurance and personal property are received. For those who wish to receive life income, several types of agreements, such as charitable remainder trusts and gift annuities can be used. In addition to these gifts, the Foundation can be named beneficiary in a Will.
